SMP

Lennart advises fund initiators, fund management teams and fund investors in the field of alternative investment (private equity, venture capital, debt, real estate) on all matters of regulatory law as well as on the structuring of funds and other investment vehicles. This also includes advising foreign funds and management teams on the private placement of fund participations in Germany. In addition, he accompanies and advises financial market players in (banking) regulatory licensing procedures as well as initiators on regulatory issues in connection with crypto tokens and blockchain-based business models. Lennart is a member of SMP #TeamCrypto.

Education and Career

Lennart studied law in Göttingen, Maribor (Slovenia) and Stockholm. Before joining SMP, Lennart spent a number of years practicing as an attorney in the field of investment regulatory law with P+P Pöllath + Partners, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, and Debevoise & Plimpton in their Frankfurt und Hamburg offices.

  • A UK PE fund manager for the formation of a German company and obtaining of a § 32 KWG permit
  • A German fund sponsor for the launch of its first private debt fund in Luxembourg (EUR 250 million fund volume)
  • A leading German fund sponsor on regulatory issues, including coordination of cross-border notifications in the acquisition of control of portfolio companies
  • Several German venture capital managers obtaining registration applications
  • Multiple initiators for regulatory structuring and placement of token offerings
  • Several investors on regulatory issues relating to the acquisition of Crypto Token
